Evidence Updates

  • ER-100 — first human dosed. The first person ever received partial cellular reprogramming, the field's boldest anti-aging idea.

  • Oral Wegovy. The FDA approved the first semaglutide weight-loss pill — about 13.6% weight loss over 64 weeks.

  • Enobosarm. An old muscle drug being repurposed to protect muscle while you lose weight on a GLP-1.

  • Calcium + vitamin D barely help your bones. The biggest study yet — 69 trials, 153,902 mostly healthy adults, found they barely cut fractures.

  • Ashwagandha holds up. A 20-trial review backs modest but real gains in memory and strength.

Watchlist

  • Peptides on trial. On July 23 an FDA committee decides whether four popular "biohacker" peptides — BPC-157, TB-500, MOTS-c, and KPV — can be legally made by compounding pharmacies. BPC-157 still has zero published human trials.

  • Two new brain drugs this summer. Centanafadine, a non-addictive ADHD drug (FDA decision July 24), and oveporexton / TAK-861, the first drug of its kind for wakefulness (decision this quarter).

  • Pelacarsen. The first real test of whether lowering Lp(a) — an inherited heart-risk marker — actually prevents heart attacks. Results from an 8,300-person trial are due any time.
